Below is a workshop price menu of the typical work undertaken here at Pedal Power.

The price menu should be used as a guide as Pedal Power cannot give quotes, or even rough estimations, without seeing your bike. Whilst a good majority of what our workshop does is unique to the individual requirements of each repair Pedal Power sees, we operate a fixed menu servicing system for general routine servicing procedures.

The minimum labour charge is £10.

If your bicycle is in a dirty condition there may be a charge for cleaning to allow for closer inspection of the frame and the components.

Price Menu:

Servicing

A main service every 12 months and a basic service every 6 months.

Main service – See below for full details. Every 12 months from £40.

Basic service – Brake and gear adjustments, tyres and safety checks. Every 6 months from £25.

Regular maintenance and periodical checks will keep your bicycle working better, last longer and increase the pleasure of your cycling.

Fitting of any minor parts will be included in the service charge e.g. fitting of tyres and brake pads. Parts used will be charged extra and other extra work is chargeable. See stand alone repairs below. Estimates will be given for any additional work.

Main service is £40.

Special Rate Discounts

For 3 or more bikes being serviced at the same time (2 kid’s bikes, 18” wheel size and under is counted as 1 bike) is £30 each.

What’s included in a main service:

Bike set-up to fit rider.

Check and adjust brakes and gears.                                

Check tyre pressure and tread wear.

Check wheels and hubs.

True wheels on bike.

Adjust headset.

Check for chain and drive-train wear.

Clean and lubrication of drive-train including chain, gears and associated components.

Check torque of bike components.

Diagnostics check and advice on any further work required.

Overhaul Service

Recommended for the keen cyclist and off roaders at £115.

What’s included in an overhaul service:

A main service plus:

Bike valet.

Complete strip down, clean and re-greasing of components.

Brake service including inner and outer casing change. (Cost of cables included.)

Disc brake and bleed system cleaning and adjustments. (Fluid will be an extra charge.)

Gear cable change and re-tune. (Cost of cables included.)

Wheels tensioned and trued.

Does not include sealed bearings.

1^st service carried out between 4 – 6 weeks after date of purchase is £25.

1^st service on bikes purchased from Pedal Power is free of charge.

Inspection and report (MOT) is £15. (Cost credited if repair to be carried out.)

Bike Valet

To thoroughly clean and de-grease your bike and re-lubricate components is £20.

Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI)

PDI. New bike from box. Build and set up to BS6102 PT 1, 1992 at £35.

PDI. Bikes purchased from Pedal Power is free of charge.

Custom Bike Build

Custom bike builds are £80.

Swapping components from one frame to another is £100.

Stand Alone Repairs

Minimum charge is £10 unless part of a service. The charge may be less then shown when repairs are part of a service. Use as a guide, a quote will be given after seeing your bike.

Brakes

Brake service – Brake adjustment, clean, inspect pad/replace and lubricate is £17 for both.

Brake cables – Replace inner cables and outer housing including adjustments. Includes brake service                                                         at £30 for both.

Hydraulic brake service and adjustment – Remove brake pads, clean and inspect, replace fluid and bleed the system is £40 for both, includes bleed and oil.

Disc brake fitting – Single (to suitable frame/forks) is £15.

Change disc pads and adjust is £10 per brake.

Disc brake upgrade from v/mech to hydraulic is £25.

Gears

Gear service adjustment, inspect and lubricate (front and rear) is £17.

Gear cables replace and adjust is £30 for both.

Front derailleur (seat tube) replacement including adjustment at £25.

Front derailleur (bottom bracket) replacement including adjustment at £27.

Rear derailleur replacement including adjustment is £25.

Replace derailleur hanger is £10.

Drive-train

Chain and cassette/freewheel replacement is £20. (Recommended replacing as a pair to stop slipping and reduce rapid wear.)

Bottom bracket replacement is £15 - £30.

Chainset/crankset replacement is £20.

Chainring replacement is £7 if chainset/crankset is not removed.

Re-tap crank pedal thread is £8 each or £12 for the pair.

Tyres and Wheels

Tyre or tube replacement from £12 including the tube.

Tyre or tube replacement with hub gears Dutch/Electric bikes from £15 each or £23 for the pair.

Wheel build from £35 each or £60 for the pair.

Wheel truing on jig from £10. (Replacement spokes at £1.20 per spoke.)

Hub service front from £15 including ball bearings unless sealed bearings.

Hub service rear from £20 including ball bearings unless sealed bearings.

Suspension and Headset

Fork fitting from £27.

Headset service or replacement is £18.

Fork service is priced on arrival.

Shock service is priced on arrival.

Bars and Grips/Tape

Fit/replace handlebar from £20 - £25.

Fit/replace stem from £15 - £20.

Fit bar tape at £10.

Accessories

Fitting and adjustment of lights, computer, kick stand, child carrier, mud guards, luggage rack, bottle and cages etc is priced on arrival.
