Excitement is growing at Pedal Power HQ ahead of the first ever Pedal Power Festival of Bike – we’ve got an amazing selection of bikes to demo, informative seminars, two great demo loops and activities for all the family coming up in West Calder on Sunday 8th April.
Guided rides on our road and MTB loops every hour from 10:30 until 14:30, with the last bikes out at 15:15. If you prefer to head out on your own then our two loops will take about 40 minutes to ride.
The Frog Bike test track in Union Square will be open from 10:00 to 16:00 for little riders to try out Frog Bike’s superb range of lightweight kids bikes. We’ve also got a fun quest for kids around the store with great prizes and some fab competitions to enter.
West Lothian Bike Library will be joining in the fun with their Giant hybrid eBike fleet to try out and unique smoothie making bike!
Muc Off, the maestros of bike care, will be on hand to advise on the best way to care for your bikes.
Join us over in the store for a series of informative seminars, our experienced team of mechanics have lined up a great series of hints and tips sessions and will be on hand all day for maintenance advice. We’re also being joined by Gary Hand of Espresso Cycle Coaching, for two expert sessions on preparing for events. Gary and his colleagues at Espresso Cycle Coaching offer 1-1 individual tailored cycling coaching programs for riders of all abilities.

What do I need to bring?
Photo ID – either a passport or driving licence
Debit or credit card – just for security, we won’t charge your card
Helmet – you must have a helmet to demo a bike
What time does the Festival of Bike start?
The first demo rides start at 10:00 and the last ones at 15:00.
Is there an age limit?
Everyone is welcome at the Festival of Bike, but you will need to be 16 to demo an adult bike. Riders under U16 wanting to ride on the main test loops must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Where can I park?
Free parking is available throughout West Calder
How do demo rides work?
Each demo ride is a maximum of 45 minutes long and is limited to our demo loops.
How many bikes can I try?
After you have been checked in at registration you will then be free to test as many bikes as you like throughout the day. You will be checked in every time you take out a bike, and checked out when you bring the bike back to each stand.
Can I book a bike to demo?
Bikes are available on a first come, first served basis, but if you’re interested in a specific bike then please email email@example.com

We’ll be running seminars with free advice on nutrition, maintenance and bike care with experts on hand from Muc Off, Espresso Cycle Coaching and Pedal Power’s own bike gurus to answer your questions.
